eleganté - saturday 31 march, 2pm
Mozart: Divertimento in D, K136 Join us 31 March at the Holy Trinity Anglican Church, corner High and Pakington Streets, Kew, as we take a detour from contemporary crossover to explore the elegance of the classical form. We start and finish with string orchestra icons, bookends of our exploration in the simplicity, elegance and beauty of the classical era. Rob Mcmillan performs the Haydn first horn concerto with us, beautiful piece of music that is too rarely performed. Many thanks to the international community at IMSLP for preparing the parts for our use! holy trinity anglican church, kew

If you've missed purchasing a copy of the album at the album launch at Kinfolk, you can purchase one here. The live recording from our collaboration with Autumn Gray in Federation Square, lovingly mixed by ARIA nominated Jimi Maroudas. If you were at the concert you'd know this is something special! Hang on to your copy if you've bought one, it's a limited release and we intend to keep it that way! |

kinfolk - indie symphony 18 nov 2011
Thanks to the 350 who turned up at the Thornbury theatre to watch us play! It's been an immense journey putting that together, and the most exhiliariating experience playing 3 full hours of music for you. A friend commented that that's the length of 2 Mahler symphonies put together. Tremendous. Most heartfelt thanks to Charles Jenkins and the Zhivagos, Mark Lang (with Kelly Lane and Chris Helm) for joining us on stage and sharing your music with us. It's been such a memorable experience only because your music holds the night together spectacularly. Thank you. And what can we say about team Autumn Gray. You are all sorts of amazing, and as Charles said, the most gentle and generous human beings we'll ever meet. Thanks for pulling through with us again. It's been a huge year of firsts for us - Our first album release, first mentions in Beat and Inpress, first album review, first time getting airplay, playing live on radio and so on. I hope there are more firsts lying ahead for us. 2012 comes next, see you on the other side! |
